I currently own about eight acres, most of which is fenced for pasture. I have dogs and cats, 90% are rescues and nowhere to go. However, about 3 years ago I received my first miniature pig and fell in love with them. All but 2 were referred to me through my veterinarian when he began to get "pig calls" from people that knew of pigs that need help or sanctuary.

I would like to tell people that I am a member of NAPPA and follow your standards and have your backing. I have contacted a local CPA and filled out some papers requesting state an federal nonprofit organization status. Usually the animals I get stay with me (the reason I have them is they weren't wanted anyway.)

All of my males are neutered. I have 3 females that are not, mainly because they were over 1 year when I got them and I was worried about their stomach weight on the sutures. The piglets will all be spayed and neutered at the appropriate age.

I have had 3 as house pets, with a 2 year ol that still comes in whenever he wants. I make public appearances with my pigs whenever possible and am always willing to talk frankly with people about pig in general as well as pets. I invite anyone considering a pet pig to visit my farm.
