February is the month we remember those we love with cards, flowers and candy. All of a sudden red becomes one of our favorite colors, correct? Right now is an excellent time to remember two people who have been working for months to help pet pigs all over the world.

Scott Gurley, our resident computer guru and NAPPA Vice President, has spend the last couple of months programming and perfecting NAPPA's online Medical Database.This extraordinary person contributes more than his fair share of time, talent and money to the welfare of the pet pig, I send an extra special Valentine and heartfelt appreciation from all of us.

Please remember that we would like for you to notify us of your local functions so that we can put them put in our announcement section of our website. Every month we get requests to post announcements from folks inside and outside of the pig world. Be sure and drop by the site once a month and check out our newest announcements.

Another project we are beginning to promote at an international level is our registry database software. This software is appropriate for any animal registry and can certainly be utilized by breeders for record keeping. Scott Gurley designed it to not be animal specific so that it would be appropriate for use by different people who have a need for an animal database. Watch for more details about this software program.

Spring is on its way and new growth is greatly anticipated by all of us. NAPPA is well on its way to a more independent and sound economic base. Go to NappaNet.com for current information about NAPPA becoming a new Internet Service Provider. As you are aware, NAPPA's ISP is up and running and getting new clients monthly. We offer a good range of Internet services. Be sure and check out the NappaNet ad in this month's News. Again Scott can help you with any information you might need for establishing a new site or moving an existing one. Please remember when your current ISP contract expires consider switching your site or domain to NappaNet. The net proceeds from this venture will allow us to provide more free services to the potbellied pig community at large. You may not be aware that NAPPA very seldom charges for its resources. We would like to offer all our resources without charge to everyone who asks, but due to limited funding this is not possible all the time. It is our hope that with the increased revenues of NappaNet we will never have to charge anyone again for any of our resources and we will have money available for funding many more worthwhile projects that benefit our pigs. Help us help our pigs by joining us in this venture.
